A Course in Miracles
A Course in Miracles is the most
important set of books I have ever studied. It has the lessons I needed to be
able to "Forgive" and achieve a "State of Grace". A Course in Miracles is a
philosophy that leads to a better way of living in harmony and love with other
people and with yourself. It leads to a change in perception and teaches us we
are not separate from God or each other. We are all brothers.
A Course In Miracles is not a religion and not a church. There is no dogma, just simple lessons.
The Course teaches that we are all children of a loving God. We are all one. I learned a simple act of kindness toward another human being benefits all mankind. Any act of violence or cruelty harms all mankind. We all carry the Christ consciousness within us. The Course teaches us to make decisions by asking ourselves, "Am I doing this from fear or love"?
We are not here to be in judgment of others.
Here are a few of the thoughts about forgiveness from the Course:
Ask not to
be forgiven, for this has already been
accomplished. Ask rather, to learn how to forgive.
You who want peace can find it only by complete forgiveness
Forgiveness is the answer to attack of any kind. So is attack
deprived of its effects, and hate is answered in the name of love.
Forgive the past and let it go, for it is gone.
What could you want forgiveness cannot give? Do you want peace? Forgiveness offers it. Do you want happiness, a quiet mind, a certainty of purpose, and a sense of worth and beauty that transcends the world? Do you want care and safety, and the warmth of sure protection always? Do you want a quietness that cannot be disturbed, a gentleness that never can be hurt, a deep, abiding comfort, and a rest so perfect it can never be upset? All this forgiveness offers you.
The easiest way to get started studying A Course in Miracles is to read Dr. Gerald Jampolsky’s book, Love Is Letting Go of Fear. This wonderful little book is what I gave to a writer from Germany who simply could not understand the Healing Power of Forgiveness and didn’t want to take the time to read A Course in Miracles.
Another book that I highly recommend is A Return to Love by Marianne Williamson. Based on the teachings in A Course in Miracles, Marianne Williamson describes her own journey, to love instead of fear, with humor and candor.
